Phlogenzym 200 tablet

Phlogenzym 200 contains a combination of two proteolytic enzymes, bromelain and trypsin  (substances that break down proteins) and the plant  flavonoid rutoside , which intervene favorably in various phases of the inflammatory reaction and immune events. They participate in the breakdown of harmful metabolic products at the site of inflammation, in the accelerated absorption of swelling, bruises and sprains . They normalize the permeability of the vascular wall and thus also limit the formation of swelling.

By reducing blood viscosity, Phlogenzym 200 improves its flow in small blood vessels and thus adjusts blood supply to tissues, their supply of nutrients and oxygen. All this supports and accelerates the healing and regeneration processes of tissues and reduces the pain associated with inflammation. Tablets are resistant to gastric juices.

Phlogenzym is used  for post-traumatic and postoperative swelling  and as an additional treatment  for inflammatory diseases of the urogenital and venous system  (veinitis, leg ulcers) and  rheumatic diseases  (rheumatoid arthritis, soft tissue rheumatism, inflammatory activation of arthrosis).

Phlogenzym is intended for adults and children from 6 years of age. Children only after consultation with the doctor, who will determine the dosage.

Adults  take 6 tablets a day (2 tablets 3 times a day or 3 tablets 2 times a day). In case of a severe course of the disease or in the case of the need for rapid absorption of swelling, bruises and sprains, 12 tablets per day can be taken (4 tablets 3 times a day or 3 tablets 4 times a day).

The recommended dosage for  children from 6 years of age  is 1 tablet per 10 kg of body weight per day in 2-4 partial doses.

The tablets must be taken on an empty stomach  (i.e. at least 30 min. before a meal and at least 2 hours after a meal) and they should be drunk unchewed with at least ¼ l of liquid.

The medicinal substances are Bromelain 90 mg (equivalent to 450 FIP-j.), trypsin 48 mg (equivalent to 24 µcat), rutosidum trihydricum 100 mg in one coated tablet.

Excipients are lactose monohydrate, magnesium stearate, stearic acid 95%, talc, triethyl citrate, MA/MMA copolymer 1:1, macrogol 6000, vanillin, purified water, corn starch, colloidal anhydrous silicon dioxide.

The product must not be used by patients with serious congenital or acquired blood coagulation disorders (e.g. hemophilia, severe liver damage, dialysis patients).

Changes in the consistency (diarrhoea), color and smell of the stool may occur rarely. Feelings of fullness, bloating and exceptionally nausea may occur when using higher individual doses. These can be avoided by dividing the total daily dose into several partial doses during the day.
